Kelken Concrete Crack Repair System
NEW Crack Bond Resin Injection System for Structural Concrete Crack Repair

Adhesives Technology introduces its new and improved “Crack-Kit” Available from Kelen Construction Systems in the US Northeast.

* The new Crack-Kit features a patented T-Port resin injection system that will help improve efficiency during the injection process.

* The new T-Ports virtually eliminate under filling the crack with their latex storage pods that continue to inject, even after the resin is dispensed into the port.

* No need to drill and possibly get dust in the drill hole and crack that can slow or even block the resin flow.

Restoration and repair of concrete by epoxy injection is very often the only alternative to a complete replacement of a structural concrete member. It therefore offers a tremendous cost savings in prolonging the useful life of the structure.

With all repair and rehabilitation of concrete, the initial job analysis is an important first step. Epoxy injection will weld concrete cracks together but will not address the cause of the crack. Before beginning, analyze the potential job application to determine the cause of the cracking and remedy if possible before proceeding with crack injection. Consult a Structural Engineer when design changes are necessary.

Epoxy Injection is a system for welding cracks in concrete back together. The chemical welding process restores the original strength and loading capacity designed into the concrete structure. Under most conditions it makes the concrete as good as new and maybe stronger.

The epoxy injection process has two purposes. First it welds the concrete into a monolithic structure as originally designed. Second, it creates an impervious seal to air, water, chemicals, debris, and other contamination that could reach the rebar. A crack is an obvious sign of failure caused by some form of stress or design factor. One of the dangers of a structural crack is the effect that it has on the reinforcing bar. The rebar represents one of the main structural values of the concrete. Cracks left unrepaired allow moisture and other contaminants to penetrate and reach the rebar. As the rebar deteriorates it loses its structural value. Replacing the entire structure is inevitable when the rebar is deteriorated to structural inadequacy. Using the Crack Bond Resin Injection System at the first sign of structural cracking is the best form of preventive maintenance.

 Our Simple Injection Process

* clean crack with a wire brush

* clean out with compressed air – cracks must be clean and free of debris

* seal the crack from outside and install T ports

* observation windows can be installed for verification

* set up for dispensing Crack Bond LR 321

* start dispending at the lowest level of the crack

* after 12 hours – remove the T-Ports and observation windows

* grind the cap with a grinder for a smooth finished look
